Math Resources for All Kids

Mathnasium

Mathnasium Learning Centers ‘make math make sense! ‘ Experienced math tutors use proprietary teaching materials and techniques, The Mathnasium Method™, to deliver a customized learning plan designed to address each student’s needs from elementary through high school. Their approach ‘goes beyond traditional math tutoring to develop understanding and build a love for math.’

MoMath
The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) highlights the role of mathematics in illuminating the patterns and structures all around us. Its dynamic exhibitsgallery, and programs are designed to stimulate inquiry, spark curiosity, and reveal the wonders of mathematics. The Museum’s innovative exhibits will engage folks from 105 to 5 years old (and even younger!) Given its mission to change perceptions of mathematics, MoMath is especially valuable for 4th through 8th graders.

Beam 6 Math

The mission of Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM) is to create pathways for underserved students to become scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and computer scientists. Students join about 40 peers who are all excited about mathematics to take seven hours of math per day — an experience they find exhilarating.   Students choose courses in advanced topics often only taught in college, such as number theory, combinatorics, astrophysics, and programming.

Launch Math & Science Centers

Launch Math + Science Centers offer exciting and educational one-week STEM summer camps for kids from Kindergarten to 7th grade (5 to 12 years old). Children at Launch’s exciting specialty summer camps code video games, explore marine biology, create physics experiments, program autonomous robots—and that is just the very beginning! All campers get to keep their projects so that the fun continues at home.

Poly Ed with Andrew Sabatino

Poly Ed will introduce your child to STEM (science, technologies, engineering, mathematics) or help your teen grasp a subject in school that has proven unusually challenging by understanding the interconnections between disciplines.  Students will immerse themselves in a subject while learning the extent to which STEM disciplines underpin the modern world. Math Programs for Girls

Ms. M’s Math for Girls

Whether your child is a high flier in math or your daughter needs to build confidence in her math ability, Ms. M’s small group settings support the unique needs of math abilities in both highly able and struggling kids. She’s a firm believer that girls thrive when taught separately from boys, but with the same math lessons, curriculum and set of problems, only teaching approach and motivation should be different. Her passion and talent is well-known within the NYC math community.

Math Programs in NYC for High Fliers

Idea Math at Speyer Legacy School

IDEA MATH provides in-depth enrichment in important mathematical areas, particularly in the fields from which contest problems are drawn: algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. ‘We believe students learn best by discovering, rather than simply memorizing, essential theorems and techniques. Our process puts students at the center of the classes, as students work together to develop their ideas. Our instructors lead this process by teaching vital ideas, giving meaningful examples, and guiding students through the problem-solving process.’

NY Math Circles-

The New York Math Circle offers interested students an opportunity to develop reasoning and problem solving skills through exploration of Mathematics.

NYMC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and supplementing Mathematical education in New York City. It seeks to stimulate the enjoyment, appreciation and knowledge of Mathematics through problem solving and guided discovery, both in our classes for students, and through courses for teachers.

NYMC provides the means for students to actively pursue a wide range of Mathematical investigations, to engage in creative problem solving and posing, and to better understand the subtleties of Mathematical ideas including the nature and construction of proofs. Students will appreciate the intrinsic beauty of Mathematics through classical and non-routine problems and ingenious solutions, and will become aware of the enormous power of Mathematics in a variety of settings. Our classes supplement standard curriculum, significantly strengthen and solidify students’ existing knowledge, and cultivate motivation and capacity for further studies.
